Biography of Carl G. P. GrädenerGrädener, Carl (Karl) Georg Peter. Studied at Altona Gymnasium; in Lübeck, Halle and Göttingen. Director of music at Kiel University, 1841-51; the Vocal Academy, Hamburg, 1851-61; professor of singing and theory at the Vienna Conservatory, Austria, 1862-65; taught at the Hamburg Conservatory, Germany, 1865-. Composed chamber music, piano pieces, &c. Father of Hermann Grädener. b. Rostock, Germany, Jan. 14th, 1812; d. Hamburg, June 10th, 1883.
