Biography of Dr Charles Swinnerton Heap

Heap, Dr Charles Swinnerton. Mus.B. (Cantab, 1871), Mus.D., (Cantab, 1872). Studied at the Leipzig Conservatory under Moscheles and Reinecke; pupil of W. T. Best. Conducted the Birmingham Philharmonic Union. Composed an oratorio, cantatas, overtures, anthems, piano pieces, songs, &c. Father of J. Sebastian Heap. b. Birmingham, England, Apr. 10th, 1847; d. Kings Norton, June 11th, 1900.
