Chorister in the Chapel Royal, St. James’ Palace, London, under William Hawes, 1826-33; pupil of Thomas Forbes Walmisley. Organist of Mitcham Parish Church, 1834-38; St. Peter’s, Islington, London, 1838-41; St. Luke’s, Berwick Street London, 1841-43; the Temple Church, London, 1843-98. One of the founders of the Royal College of Organists. Professor of organ at the Royal Normal College for the Blind, Norwood, London, .
