Biography of Dr Alfred King

King, Dr Alfred. F.R.C.O. (1868), Mus.B. (Oxon, 1872), Mus.D. (Oxon, 1890). Pupil of Dr Charles Steggall (organ). Organist of Cuddeston Theological College, 1856; Eastnor Castle, 1857-64; St. Michael-and-All-Angel’s, Brighton, 1865-77; St. Peter’s Parish Church, Brighton, 1877-87; to Brighton Corporation, 1878; to the Dome Pavilion, Brighton, 1880-. Composed choral music, part-songs, &c. b. Shelley, England, Apr. 24th, 1837; d. Brighton, Apr. 26th, 1926.
