Biography of Dr Alfred King
King, Dr Alfred. Mus.B. (Oxon, 1872), Mus.D. (Oxon, 1890), F.R.C.O. (1868). Pupil of Dr Charles Steggall. Organist of St. Michael’s, Brighton, 1865-77; St. Peter’s Parish Church, Brighton, 1878-; to Brighton Corporation, 1878; to the Doom Pavilion, Brighton, 1880-. Composed choral music, &c. b. Shelley, Essex, England, Apr. 24th, 1837; d. near Hove, Apr. 26th, 1926.
