Biography of Nicolaus Jacques LemmensLemmens, Nicolaus Jacques. Pupil of Adolph F. Hesse, Van der Broeck, Godineau, Michelor and Girschener; studied at the Brussels Conservatoire, 1839-45, under Fétis, gaining the first organ prize, 1845; at Breslau with Hesse, 1846. Organist. Professor of organ at the Brussels Conservatory, 1849; founded the organists training college, Malines, 1879. Composed organ pieces, piano pieces, songs, &c. Author of “École de Orgue”. b.
