Biography of Louis Spohr

Spohr, Ludwig (Louis). Pupil of Riemenschneider and Dufour; studied in Brunswick with Kinisch (violin), Hartung (theory) and Maucourt (violin); pupil of Dufour, Kunisch and Franz Eck. Violinist. Composed operas, symphonies, chamber, church and choral music, &c. b. Brunswick, Germany, Apr. 5th, 1784; d. Cassel, Nov. 22nd, 1859.
