Richter (counterpoint), Rietz (composition), Wenzel (piano) and Dr Karl Reinecke (composition), 1858-62; in Copenhagen with Niels Gade and E. Hartmann, 1863. Founded the Musical Union, Christiania, 1866. Composed orchestral suites, piano pieces, songs, &c. b. Bergen, Norway, June 15th, 1843; d. there, Sep. 4th, 1907.
