Biography of Dr Charles SteggallSteggall, Dr Charles Henry. Mus.B. (Cantab, 1851), Mus.D. (Cantab, 1851), F.R.A.M. Studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, under Sir Sterndale Bennett, 1847. Organist of Christ Chapel, Maida Hill, London, 1848-55; Christ Church, Lancaster Gate, London, 1855-64; Lincolns Inn Chapel, London, 1864-1905. Professor of organ and harmony at the Royal Academy of Music, London, 1851-1903; a founder of the Royal College of Organists. Composed church music, organ pieces, hymns, &c.
