Bonavia-Hunt, Rev Noel Aubrey. M.A. Choirmaster at St. Matthew’s, Willesden, 1905-12; precentor of All Saints’, St. John’s Wood, 1922-30; clergyman. Composed services, anthems, organ music, &c. Author of “Studies in Organ Tone”, 1914; “The Church Organ: an introduction to the study of modern organ building”, 1920; “Modern Organ Stops: a practical guide to their nomenclature, construction, voicing and artistic use, with a glossary of technical terms”, 1923; “The Organ of Tradition; The Modern British Organ”, 1939; “Modern Studies in Organ Tone”; “The organ reed: the voicing and use of reed pipes; the mechanical properties of reed pipes”, 1951; autobiography “Irons in the Fire”. Son of Rev Henry George Bonavia Hunt. b. Primrose Hill, England, 1882; d. Aug. 26^th, 1965.
