Biography of Édouard BatisteBatiste, Antoine Édouard. Studied at the Paris Conservatoire, 1830, gaining first prize for organ, 1839; pupil of François Benoist, Luigi Cherubini and Jacques Fromenthal d’Halévy. Organist of St. Nicholas-des-Champs, Paris, 1842-54; St. Eustache, Paris, 1854-76. Professor at the Paris Conservatoire, 1836. Composed organ music. Uncle of Léo Delibes. b.
